“Centennial Pride: The 1921 Alabama Commemorative Half Dollar”
"Centennial Pride: The 1921 Alabama Commemorative Half Dollar" is a vibrant tribute to Alabama's centennial. As the artist, I have a special affinity for this piece, as it was a unique commission that allowed me to explore my creativity.
This artwork intricately details the obverse of the 1921 Alabama Commemorative Half Dollar, celebrating a century of statehood and the rich heritage of Alabama. I meticulously rendered the dual portraits of William Wyatt Bibb, Alabama's first governor, and Thomas E. Kilby, the governor at the time of the centennial.
What makes this piece truly unique is that it's the only drawing on my site that features just the obverse. I've yet to complete the reverse, but I'm eager to finish it, as the design is truly beautiful. The toning on this coin is also entirely imaginative, as I didn't have any reference points to work from. I'm thrilled with how it turned out, and I'm glad the customer was pleased with the result.
