“Gateway to the West: The 1921 Missouri Commemorative Half Dollar”
"Gateway to the West: The 1921 Missouri Commemorative Half Dollar" is a stunning full-color depiction of Missouri's centennial coin. As the artist, I'm honored to have created this piece as a commission for the Missouri Numismatic Association. What's more, I'm proud to say that 25% of the sales from this print will be contributed to the association, supporting the numismatic community in Missouri.
This artwork captures the intricate details and historical significance of the 1921 Missouri Commemorative Half Dollar, celebrating a century of statehood and pioneering spirit. I meticulously rendered the dual portraits of Missouri's early leaders and the symbolic imagery that represents the state's pioneering spirit.
One unique aspect of this piece is that the toning on both sides was entirely imagined by me. While many Missouri commemorative coins have a dark reddish-brown toning, I chose to take a different approach, creating a more vibrant and attractive color scheme. The result is a beautiful drawing that looks wonderful when framed with museum-quality materials and displayed in your office, store, or gallery.
